Ker of Eden

Eden

Ker of Eden is a showcase for the graduation project done by Jan Jonk from Dreams of Danu, graduating as European Media Master of Arts specializing in Interaction Design at the faculty of Art and Technology of the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU).

The project focussed on cognitive interaction using the Emotive EPOC brain-computer-interface. To make it easier for people to use their thoughts as commands in a game, different ways were explored to help learning and interacting when using a BCI. Audio was made by Manaburn Music.

From the EJECT graduation exposition:

Gathering

A Brain-Computer-Interface gives you mindcontrol in a game just by thinking the right actions. But it’s hard to be in exactly the right frame of mind every time. This project aims to make this difficult process easier by providing methods to mentally anchor the right thoughts. It is done by shaping the experience, using music and sounds as rich tools to help you visualize an inner process while playing. And to so illuminate the mental interface and let you engage in the hidden workings of your mind.
